“Shells and dust” starts as a documentary about the only colonial fish in the world and derives into a scatological analysis of near term human extinction derived from the melting of the artic.

Alfredo Reis Deus was born in Lisbon in 1970.

In 2013, after shooting a doc series about a small fish species from Lake Tanganyika in a fish tank (Battle of the Shells), he decided he wanted to film it in the wild.

The films from “Tales of Shells and Dust” were the result and although the film “Shells and Dust” is the 7th chapter of this series, it was conceived as a standalone piece.

В 2013 году, сняв серию документов о небольших видах рыб из озера Танганьика в аквариуме («Битва раковин»), он решил, что хочет снять его в дикой природе.
