The animal residents of an oak tree learn their tree is dying. Their first reaction is to blame each other for the deteriorating tree. Soon they realize the only way to save their home is to work together and change their ways.

Humans have exploited Earth to the point where it is no longer possible to live on it. Their only option is to relocate to Mars. When the last group of people has boarded the spaceship for the red planet, the Earth can finally breathe easy. Like an expressionist painting, Reboot depicts a world in which the absence of our species is the only chance nature has to recover its lushness and flourish once more.

Director Biography – Ellen Osborne

Ms. Osborne earned a MFA in film from San Francisco State University. She received a Student Academy Award for her graduation film, “Clowning Around.” After graduation, she went on to work in a variety of postions in both narrative and documentary film and television. In 2005, she began exploring animation by using her paintings in short animated films. “Reboot” is her fifth short animated film and her first film using a clay painting technique.

The Ahom (Pron: /ˈɑːhɒm/), or Tai-Ahom is an ethnic group found today in the Indian states of Assam and Arunachal Pradesh. They are the descendants of the Tai people who reached the Brahmaputra valley of Assam in 1228 and the local people who joined them over the course of history. Sukaphaa, the leader of the Tai group and his 9000 followers established the Ahom kingdom (1228–1826 CE), which controlled much of the Bramhaputra Valley in modern Assam until 1826. Even though the Ahom made up a relatively small portion of the kingdom’s population, they maintained their original Ahom language and practiced their traditional religion till the 17th-century, when the Ahom court as well as the commoners adopted the Assamese language, and Ekasarana dharma and Saktism religions.
